DCN Assembly: Meeting the Financial Challenge

DCN Assembly 2017: “Meeting the Financial Challenge” is kindly being hosted at the BT Tower, London by BT. Please note that this event is only open to DCN member authorities.

You are warmly invited to the re-arranged DCN Assembly from 11:00 – 15:00 at the BT Tower auditorium (registration from 10:30).

At a time of rapid change in local government this Assembly will focus on local government finance, including business rates and district council commercial innovation, and present an opportunity to discuss financial challenges in your area with your peers. It will also provide a chance to question government ministers and opposition spokesperson on financial issues.

Due to security reasons and venue capacity all district council leaders and chief executives who wish to attend must register on this page. This is likely to be a popular event so please register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment as spaces are limited.

The event will be held at the BT Tower and due to security procedures a passport or valid drivers licence must be brought with you.

Discussions will include the new government’s priorities, the “opportunities and challenges of 100% business rates retention for district councils” and “how district councils can become financially self-sustainable with a commercial approach”. A full programme and speakers will be confirmed shortly. will be shared closer to the time.

This event will be followed by the separate District Council All Party Parliamentary Group reception at the House of Commons, hosted by Mark Pawsey MP, which will see the launch of the APPG report on collaboration and devolution. You will receive a separate invitation to attend this reception but please do enter the below details into your calendar if you wish to attend.
