Every year the DCN runs a number of events to promote the role of district councils, inform our members about the latest developments in government policy and providing networking opportunities. Event: DCN Autumn Assembly 2017
Title: “Local Solutions for National Prosperity”
Date: 21 November 2017
Timing: 11:00 to 16:00
Venue: 18 Smith Square, Westminster, SW1P 3HZ
Audience: Leaders, portfolio holders, chief executives and senior staff. Please note your council must be a DCN member to attend.
Price: Free for members

Description: It will be a chance to hear from key speakers how districts deliver better lives and bigger economies. Driving local economic growth through housing, planning and infrastructure gives districts a unique ability to shape and support sustainable communities where no one is left behind.

In particular the district role in alleviating the costs of adult social care and homelessness is significant, and good practise in these areas will be explored by our expert panel. There will also be an opportunity to find out more about Government and Parliamentary priorities and the role district councils have in directly shaping these

Event: DCN Chief Executive’s Conference 2017
Title: “Knowing Me, Knowing You”
Date: 6 December 2017
Timing: 11:00 to 16:00
Venue: Central London Location TBC
Audience: This event is open to the senior officer (Chief Executive, Managing Director etc.) of DCN Member Councils only.
Price: Free for members

Description: This year’s DCN Chief Executive Conference will be discussing knowing your leadership style, and understanding your customer base. It will also be a chance to catch up with your district council colleagues, discuss the latest developments in government policy and develop your skills.

Event: DCN National Conference 2018
Title: “Better Lives & Bigger Economies”
Date: 8 and 9 February 2018
Timing: Lunchtime to Lunchtime
Venue: Chesford Grange, Kenilworth, Warwick, CV8 2LD
Audience: Leaders, portfolio holders, chief executives and senior staff. Please note your council must be a DCN member to attend.
Price: £299 including accommodation and meals

Description: Built around the theme of ‘Better Lives and bigger economies’ the event will showcase the work of district councils, explore the key policy issues of the day with a main theme of how district councils will shape the future of local government in localities and deliver better lives and bigger economies.

The conference will have a packed programme with conference addresses, with members of the new Ministerial team invited, workshops, and opportunities for networking.
