Cllr (Jonathan) Neil Clarke

Leader, Rushcliffe Borough Council

Neil is a company director and has been running his own business since 1984.

Neil has been a councillor since 1986 and has been Leader of Rushcliffe Borough Council (home of Trent Bridge cricket) since 2005. Rushcliffe was rated as Excellent in the old CPA process.

A recent IPSOS/MORI survey placed Rushcliffe the No. 1 District Council in the country for Value for Money and No. 1 for overall customer satisfaction.

Neil is a member of the East Midlands Leaders’ Board and the Nottinghamshire Improvement and Efficiency Partnership. He is also the East Midlands champion for Climate Change.

He is an accredited peer with the LGID (IDeA) working with various councils in mentoring/training roles.

As a member of the DCN Executive, he wishes to ensure local government continues to be heard at a national level for the good of local communities.

Neil enjoys watching rugby, cricket and ice hockey and going for the occasional cycle ride, escapes to Tuscany whenever he can, has recently taken up skiing and regularly tries to play golf, but enjoys the walk anyway.
