The Assembly brings together the elected Leader (or equivilent) of all member authorities to approve the work programme of the Executive and Chief Executives Network, to share best practice and to hold the Executive to account.

There are 182 members of the District Councils’ Network. The Assembly has one chair and three vice chairs representing the four main political parties.

The Assembly meets three time a year.
